FAYETTEVILLE—Local high schools Har-Ber Springdale and the Don Tyson School of Innovation will hold a League of Legends exhibition match at the VIP/Press Grand Opening event at The Grid Esports this Thursday evening.

The Grid is Northwest Arkansas’ first premier esports gaming center featuring 36 custom-built high-end gaming PCs, 13 console stations (Xbox, PS4 and Nintendo Switch), branded gaming desks and chairs, and the fastest fiber optic internet service in NWA.
“We’re going to have an exciting League of Legends battle between the esports students from Har-Ber and the Don Tyson School of Innovation (DTSOI) this Thursday evening starting at 6pm”, explained Erin Ternes of The Grid. “We wanted our VIPs and media to witness what a tournament will look like on our Conquest Arena stage, the only one in the 5-state area.”
Har-Ber High esports advisor Lindsey Shantanu and advisors Sabra Eaton and Burl Sniff from DTSOI collectively said “this is going to be awesome for our student athletes to actually compete on a stage.” The schools plan to use The Grid as a training facility to enhance their individual and team esports curriculum “and give them an advantage when applying for college scholarships.”
The Grid Esports is having their official grand opening October 9 – 11 with activities such as a climbing wall, free Pepsi product, Grid merchandise, contests to win a custom-made Grid gaming chair and special guest players. You can find more information at www.thegridesports.com
