Tournament Platform Smash.gg Acquired by Microsoft
According to a new alert on its homepage, tournament organization platform Smash.gg has been acquired by Microsoft. “Smash.gg will continue as a self-service esports platform available to tournament organizers from all communities,” the site reads.
Smash.gg was founded in 2015 and has since become the tournament organization platform of choice for fighting game esports, and also provides services for a variety of other titles including Rocket League and Hearthstone. The company raised $11M USD in 2017 in a Series A funding round.
